Jagannath temple in Puri is one of the four spiritual sites of Char Dham Yatra. The other three are Badrinath, Dwarka and Rameshwaram.

The idols of the three deities in the temple – Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra – are carved out of wood and are in incomplete form.

According to the Odisha Tourism website, the temple is constructed in such a way that it doesn’t cast any shadow on the ground at any time of the day.
