The winners of the 71st National Film Awards were announced in August and, today, on September 23, the winners are being honoured with their awards. They were conferred by President Droupadi Murmu at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. Several celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Mohanlal, Vikrant Massey among others graced the occasion and expressed excitement.

This year marks the first win for actor Shah Rukh Khan after a celebrated career of over 30 years. He won the award for best actor for his stellar performance in Jawan.
Shah Rukh Khan greeted the audience with a warm namaste and adaab as they cheered for him in unison at the 71st National Film Awards.
Rani Mukerji won the Best Actress award at the 71st National Film Awards for Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway. She was seated beside SRK and stunned in an earthy-toned saree with golden border. She added peronalised touch to her look as she wore necklace with daughter Adira's name initials.
Malayalam cine icon Mohanlal took home the country's highest honour for cinema - the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He gave an emotional speech after win, expressing his love for cinematic world.
Karan Johar was also present at the ceremony as she was conferred with the honour for his 2023 family-entertainer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani wins big with the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment & Best Choreography for Dhindhora Baje Re.
Vikrant Massey has officially etched his name in the history of Indian cinema by winning the National Award for Best Actor for his remarkable performance in 12th Fail. He shared the honour with SRK.
Rani Mukerji beamed with joy as she enjoyed the special moment by capturing a selfie. The diva was all smiles as she posed.
After posing for a picture, Shah Rukh, Rani and Vikrant flaunted their award with pride. To note, they have also won cash prizes along with the honour.

Among the shining stars of the evening was Netflix’s Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery, which was honoured as the Best Hindi Film for its quirky, rooted storytelling and remarkable performances. Attending the prestigious ceremony were director Yashowardhan Mishra, producer Guneet Monga Kapoor, producer Ektaa R Kapoor along with Monika Shergill from Netflix.
At the 71st National Film Awards (2025), Gujarati cinema's landmark film Vash brought home top honours - Best Gujarati Film and Best Supporting Actress for Janki Bodiwala's stellar performance.
