As O' Romeo hits big screens, a look at Shahid Kapoor's biggest openers at box office

Shahid Kapoor is all set to portray fierce, flawed and rugged character on-screen with O'Romeo. The film reunites him with Vishal Bhardwaj alongside Triptii Dimri. Shahid Kapoor's box office

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Padmaavat featured Shahid as Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, the valiant and honorable king of Mewar.

Also starring Ranveer and Deepika, the film went on to Rs 24 crores on opening day.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film resurrected Shahid's career after a string of flops. The film starred him as an obsessive lover who goes all guns blazing in pursuit of his love.

The film remains second biggest opening of Shahid's career with a collection of Rs 20.21 crore. It's lifetime collection sums up to Rs 280 crores.

Starring Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Shaandaar is a quirky romantic comedy about a chaotic destination wedding, where secrets, misunderstandings, and unexpected love unfold.

With Shahid-Alia's chemistry enticing audience to banger songs ruling playlists, the film went on to earn Rs 13.10 crore on Day 1.

Shahid wooes us as a ruthless gangster in Prabhu Deva's R...Rajkumar. The film raked in Rs 10.20 crore on it's opening day.

Shahid played a drug addict in this thriller that sheds light on rampant drug abuse crisis in Punjab. The film was  ahit when it released and earned 10.05 crore on 1st day.

Shahid returned to his romantic boy era with Teri Baaton Mein Uljha Jiya that captivated audience with it's plot. It showed Shahid falling in love with robot, played by Kriti Sanon.

Presented by Maddock films, the movie went on to earn 7.02 crore on Day 1.

In Batti Gul Meter Chalu (2018), Shahid Kapoor played Sattu Tripathi, an honest and spirited young man who fights against corrupt electricity officials. The film earned 6.50 crore on Day 1.

Shahid and Vishal Bhardwaj's political thriller Haider is appreciated to date for actor's prolific act. Upon release, the film earned 6.14 crore on Day 1.

Now, all eyes are on O'Romeo which has been released in theatres this Valentine's Week.
