Sanchita Ugale was popular for playing Diya Tandon in the popular Zee TV show Kumkum Bhagya. The show starred Sriti Jha and Shabir Ahluwalia in lead roles.

She had previously shared that working on long-running series was turning point in her life as it brought her recognition and helped shape her career.

The actress as also been a part of Wagle Ki Duniya - Nayi Peedhi Naye Kissey. She also played the lead role of Sukoon in the television drama Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi with Sorab Bedi.

Apart from TV, she has appeared in several OTT and big screen projects. She was seen in Vicky Kaushal's historical drama Chhaava as Tarabai.

She appeared in Prime Video's Crime Aaj Kal, which was headlined by Vikrant Massey. She was also part of ZEE5's Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout, starring Manoj Bajpayee.

The actor enjoyed a strong following on Instagram, where she had around 1.39 lakh followers. She regularly shared videos, photos and updates from her personal and professional life.

Sanchita's social media profile shows her love for travel. She was also interested in fitness and yoga.

The 22-year-old actress died by suicide at her residence in Sai Santoshi Building, Aachole Village, in Nalasopara East. She resided there with her parents and sister.

Based on a complaint filed by the deceased's father, Machhindra Ugale, Aachole Police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) on June 15.

Officials have stated that a detailed investigation is being conducted from all possible angles. Police said that the exact cause behind the incident is yet to be determined, and further investigation is in progress.

The news has left the television industry in shock, with condolences pouring in for the late actress.
