Though Britney is best known for her pop career, the "Everytime" singer also has a background in gymnastics and dance.

The pop princess was born on Dec. 2, 1981, in McComb, Miss., to Jamie and Lynne Spears. She has two siblings, older brother Bryan Spears and younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears.

Britney had a troubled childhood, and to make ends meet, she even worked at a seafood restaurant. She used to play basketball as well. Her talent didn’t stay in one place.

Even after failing at the initial audition for Disney’s The All New Mickey Mouse Club, she eventually got in and appeared in the star-studded show. She featured alongside Ryan Gosling, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, and others.

At the age of 15, she signed her first deal. However, as soon as she made her way into the world, the media started to take dibs on her and lashed out at her clothes. 

By 19, she tasted fame and success. The pop princess wrote, “When I think back on that time, I was truly living the dream, living my dream. My tours took me all over the world. “I had power back then; I wish I’d used it more thoughtfully.”

She has been married three times: to Jason Alexander in 2004 (annulled), to Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007, and to Sam Asghari, whom she divorced in 2024.

Spears has two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

For 13 years, Spears was under a conservatorship, a legal arrangement that controlled many aspects of her life, including her finances and career. The conservatorship was terminated in 2021. 

In her memoir, she also mentioned that people forced her to comment on her choice of clothing.

Her first breakout hit, Baby One More Time, made her put a mark on her career. She became a star overnight. Her debut album stayed for six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The singer won her first Grammy for her song Toxic after getting six nominations in her career.
