Brooklyn and Nicola began dating in late 2019. They made their relationship Instagram official in January 2020 with a mirror selfie. The couple got married in Palm Beach, Florida, in 2022 at the Peltz family’s oceanfront estate.
Their wedding marked the onset of a feud within the Beckham household. It reportedly began after Nicola wore a custom Valentino Haute Couture gown instead of a Victoria Beckham design. Nicola later explained that Victoria’s atelier couldn’t complete the dress in time.
Clarifying this stance, Brooklyn, in a six-page statement, mentioned that Victoria cancelled making Nicola’s wedding dress at the “eleventh hour,” forcing her to find a replacement and triggering “unnecessary panic.”
Contrary to this, a source told the Daily Mail that the daughter-in-law was “absolutely foul” towards the Spice Girl alum. “She was rude to Victoria; she shunned other members of the Beckham family,” the source claimed.
Brooklyn also recalled a distressing moment from their wedding day. He shared that singer Marc Anthony invited him on stage for what was meant to be his first dance with Nicola, but instead, his mother was waiting and danced with him. Brooklyn said the incident left him feeling “uncomfortable and humiliated.”
The family rift became more evident in 2025, when Brooklyn and Nicola were notably absent from David’s 50th birthday festivities in London in May 2025.
In the same year, Brooklyn also skipped David’s knighthood-related events and Victoria Beckham’s Netflix documentary premiere.
Brooklyn reportedly sent a legal letter via his law firm, Schillings, to David and Victoria, requesting that they contact him only through lawyers, stop tagging or mentioning him on social media, and cease making public statements about him.
In August 2025, Brooklyn and Nicola renewed their wedding vows in a ceremony at the Peltz family estate in Bedford, Westchester County, New York.
Insiders also suggested that differences in values—especially around financial independence and boundaries—have widened the gap between Brooklyn, Nicola, and the rest of the Beckham clan.
Brooklyn reportedly blocked his parents and siblings on social media last year after Victoria liked a video of him cooking roast chicken on Instagram. He allegedly became upset over the public interaction, viewing it as a breach of his legal letter’s terms.
Cruz Beckham publicly addressed the blocking on Instagram, writing: “NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son. Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked… as did I.”
In his six-page statement, Brooklyn, 26, wrote that his parents tried to control his life and hurt his marriage. He alleged that they attempted to sabotage his wedding. He concluded by sharing that he grew up struggling with severe anxiety, adding that since distancing himself from his parents, the anxiety has disappeared.
