Karan Wahi, born on June 9, 1986, was born and raised in Delhi. You will be surprised to know that acting wasn't Karan's first choice as a career. He actually dreamt of being a cricketer. (All photos/Karan Wahi's official Instagram account)

In 2003, Karan Wahi was selected for the Under-19 cricket team for Delhi alongside Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan. However, after a major injury, Karan Wahi was demotivated and left cricket only to join his father's business.

Virat Kohli and Karan Wahi have never played together, however. Though both are really good friends and go long back. Virat was Karan Wahi's junior and was in another school, so they have often played against each other rather than together.

On the other hand, Shikhar Dhawan has been friends with Karan Wahi since nursery. They literally grew up together. Of course, needless to say, Shikhar and Karan have played a lot of cricket in school, college and later in the DDC academy together. Karan Wahi had shared this picture with Shikhar Dhawan and captioned: From School to NOW. From Shikhi to Gabbar. This partnership is for a Lifetime. Jatt Ji... p.s - We will do that cold drink ad one day #shikhiboy

In 2004, Karan Wahi rose to fame as Ranveer Sisodia in one of the most popular TV shows - Remix. He was 17 when he gave his auditions for the show, which initially he was hesitating to even meet the makers.

Last year, on November 1. Remix makers celebrated its 15th anniversary. Karan shared this picture and wrote alongside, "Remix, not just a show. It's a Generation in itself... Happy bday #Remix. 15 years back, we came together and created Magic. Thanks, @srishtibehlarya @goldiebehl for this LIFE... Thank you, everyone, for still remembering and loving Remix and Ranveer even today. [sic]"

After Remix, there was no looking back for Kara. He has been part of many popular TV serials like Dill Mill Gayye, Baat Hamari Pakki Hai, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5, Nach Baliye 5, Indian Idol Junior, Dance India Dance Super Moms, India Poochega Sabse Shaana Kaun?, Comedy Nights Bachao, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 8 and Entertainment Ki Raat.

Karan Wahi had once revealed that his hobby is interiors sketching. It has been his favourite past-time, ever since he was renovating his home. 'I looked up online for references but refrained from copying them. I wanted a simple and ethnic look to my home, and finally managed to get that effect with my own designs,' said Wahi.

Karan Wahi, further continued, 'As I am a homebody, this hobby suits me perfectly. I can spend hours with my drawing book and pencils sketching my ideas. Normally, I don't sketch with a specific theme in mind, it's just random ideas. I have made sketches in many corners of my house. Since childhood, I have loved sketching and drawing. Doing up my home gave me a chance to rekindle my passion. I also enjoy giving ideas for interiors to all my friends and family members.'

Karan Wahi has a huge collection of shoes (he owns over 35 pairs), and yet, finds it difficult to fight the urge of buying footwear. He says, 'I did not believe in a man being known by the shoes he wears, but since I've been wearing different shoes, I've seen people's perception about me change.' Shoes, not looks, matter to Karan!

If the Khans and Kapoors are ruling Bollywood, television industry's favourites are undoubtedly the Karans -- Karan Patel, Karan Wahi, Karan Tacker and more. But does it bother them to have a common first name? No, says Wahi!

Karan Wahi even worked as a host of the acting talent hunt show India's Next Superstars, which was co-judged by another Karan - filmmaker Karan Johar - and Rohit Shetty

'Coincidentally, most of the Karans - Karanveer Mehra, Karan Mehra, Karan Tacker and Karanveer Bohra - are really good friends and the fact that we have kept the flag of our name flying high in the industry makes me really happy,' Karan Wahi told IANS.

'Fortunately, I am also on good terms with Karan Johar. I don't feel weird about sharing my name with so many of them in the industry. I am glad that there's enough work for all of us to do,' Karan Wahi added.

On big-screen, Karan Wahi made his Bollywood debut with Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur's Daawat-e-Ishq in 2014. He played the role of Amjad

But in 2018, Karan Wahi made a smashing Bollywood outing with Hate Story 4 opposite Urvashi Rautela. The film did fairly good at the Box Office. Ask him if he has ever hated anyone in his life? 'Hate is a very strong word and I think I did when I was young and I probably thought I hated anyone, who I disliked. But as I grew a little older, I realised that hate is not the word I would choose to express what I dislike,' he says.

Karan Wahi has earned fame after he started hosting Television shows. Talking about hosting he said, 'As an anchor my main responsibility is to create the content. An anchor is like a driver of the show who creates a perfect balance between the audience and the judges and also the contestants. I have seen sometimes the contestants are very surprised and then they also have that oh my god feeling with the presence of esteemed judges and media glares. I always try to break that ice and see that the contestants feel comfortable in front of so much attention. And I also see that I do not cross line with any participant in the show.'

Karan Wahi has also been the host of various red carpet events and Award shows like Indian Telly Awards, Star Guild Awards and 5th Zee Gold Awards. He was recently seen in the Voot web-show Fuh Se Fantasy.
