People were seen buying marigold flowers at the famous Dadar flower market ahead of the festival

Apart from flowers, the area also houses festive decor items like torans and wall hangings. Mumbaikars thronged the market to take their pick from a wide range of options

Some devotees carried idols of Lord Ganesha, making their way through massive crowds to take the idol home

Ganesh Chaturthi will be observed on August 27 this year. During the 10-day Ganeshotsav, Mumbai is immersed in the festive atmosphere with people visiting pandals, indulging in festive shopping and participating in community celebrations

On days leading up to the occasion, festive shopping destinations like Dadar, Bhuleshwar and Crawford markets usually witness huge crowds
