Rakhis with shades of yellow, blue, green, red, and other colours created a vibrant atmosphere at the market

The shops were lined with rakhis featuring both classic and trendy designs

People could be seen carefully browsing through the rakhis on display, and shopkeepers were busy catering to the customers

Apart from Dadar, Bhuleshwar and Crawford market are other popular destinations for rakhi shopping in Mumbai

According to the Hindu lunar calendar, Raksha Bandan is celebrated on the full moon day (purnima) of the Shravan month, which usually falls in August according to the Gregorian calendar

This year, Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on Saturday, August 9

The festival celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters, and rakhi is the thread that ties the whole festival together
