Grocery shopping

Most items at grocery stores have plastic packaging, which ends up contributing to plastic waste. Additionally, some shops still use plastic bags, which further contribute towards environmental harm. It is better to carry your own reusable bag and avoid buying packaged products whenever possible

Shopping for clothes

How often do you shop for new clothes? Fast fashion articles use excessive water and also contribute to textile waste, which further affects the environment. Upcycling old clothes or thrifting are practices that can help one incorporate sustainable fashion in their lifestyle

Using an air-conditioner

When temperatures rise, an air-conditioner seems to be the natural option for relief from heat. However, did you know that this very practice is leading to the rise in temperatures? The refrigerants present in cooling equipment like ACs are major contributors in global warming

Driving

It is a known fact that vehicles release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere that cause global warming, and leave a huge carbon footprint. So, instead of driving your car everywhere, try to take public transport whenever possible and walk or cycle for short distances

Wasting electricity

Have you ever left lights and fans on while you were not in the room? While this may seem insignificant, it does lead to energy wastage and should be avoided. Additionally, using more energy-efficient appliances can help minimise environmental harm
