Locals gathered in large numbers outside Saineeta Chakravarti’s house to offer their respects.

Chakravarti, one of the 10 cabin crew members on the ill-fated Air India flight that crashed on June 12, was remembered by neighbours and friends as kind, soft-spoken, and down-to-earth

The bodies of the crash victims are being handed over to their families following DNA identification

Chakravarti is survived by her mother Rema and father Abin. She also has a younger sister, who is married

The Air India flight crashed into a medical college complex shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 1.39 pm. Of the 242 people on board, only one—a 40-year-old passenger—survived. Additionally, 29 people on the ground lost their lives in the incident

By Monday afternoon, 99 victims had been identified through DNA matching, and 64 bodies were handed over to their families. Among them was former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who was also on board the ill-fated flight
