The 92-year-old singer, who mesmerised generations with her unforgettable melodies across seven decades, passed away on Sunday, April 12, due to multi-organ failure at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Affectionately known as Ashatai, the legendary singer was a recipient of the Padma Vibhushan and Maharashtra Bhushan awards. Renowned for her versatility, she gifted the world countless classics, including "Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar," "In Ankhon Ki Masti," "Dil Cheez Kya Hai," "Piya Tu Ab to Aaja," "Duniya Mein Logon Ko," and "Zaara Se Jhoom Loon Main."
