The show of unity comes shortly after cousins Raj and Uddhav Thackeray held a joint rally in Thane
Speaking at the rally, Shinde asserted that no one can split Mumbai from Maharashtra, countering the narrative pushed by Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray
He also exhorted the cadres and voters to support the Mahayuti to unfurl the saffron flag atop the BMC and elect a BJP mayor
On January 11, the Mahayuti released its 29-point manifesto for the BMC Election, promising a pothole-free Mumbai, smoother commutes, solutions to urban flooding, and better management of hawkers, parking, footpaths, tourism, and open spaces
Fadnavis announced that at the end of the BMC’s five-year term in 2030, an action-taken report and fact sheet will be released to assess the fulfilment of manifesto promises
