EVMs are devices used to electronically record and count votes during elections

The Indian EVM system, known as ECI-EVM, is specifically designed, manufactured and deployed in accordance with procedures and rules laid down by the Election Commission of India (ECI), as detailed in the official EVM manual

This distinguishes the machines from the ones used in other countries

Voters will get to elect corporators to govern Greater Mumbai, India’s largest metropolitan city

The civic polls will be held in a single phase on January 15, 2026, covering 227 wards across Greater Mumbai

Counting of votes and declaration of results are scheduled for January 16
