The idea for the competition was proposed by actor Akshay Kumar, who said it was inspired by the format of the Indian Premier League (IPL)
The actor shared the concept with civic officials a few months ago, and expressed satisfaction that the plan has now been implemented with proper arrangements
The announcement was made at a press conference held at the BMC headquarters by Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani
The event was attended by Deputy Mayor Sanjay Ghadi, Standing Committee Chairman Prabhakar Shinde, and BJP leader Ameet Satam
The competition has begun immediately and will run until December. It is open to a wide range of participants, including housing societies, schools, slum areas, hotels, gardens, public toilets and other establishments in Mumbai
