The move comes as Mumbai has been experiencing poor air quality in several parts of the city over the past few weeks

The action is part of BMC’s ongoing efforts to enforce strict compliance with environmental regulations and improve air quality in Mumbai’s city and suburban areas

The Mumbai civic body has been also monitoring construction activities closely and taking decisive action against projects that flout the issued directives, the civic officials had earlier said

The use of mist cannons is part of its wider plan to tackle the recent rise in air pollution in Mumbai

As per the SAMEER app, Mumbai’s Air Quality Index (AQI) on Wednesday morning stood at 101, falling under the moderate category
