The Navi Mumbai International Airport officially began operations on December 25, 2025

The airport is expected to ease congestion at Mumbai’s main airport and improve regional connectivity

In a post on X, the CISF wrote, "The CISF has ensured comprehensive security arrangements in strict adherence to BCAS guidelines, enabling safe and efficient operations"

"With professionalism and preparedness, CISF remains committed to supporting smooth and secure functioning at India’s newest world-class airport," it said

Passengers using the terminal were welcomed by officials from Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL) and airline staff
