The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane and Palghar. 

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, for Mumbai and its adjoining districts on Friday

According to IMD, Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar are expected to witness winds speeding up to 30–40 kmph at isolated places

Officials have urged residents to remain cautious of waterlogging, traffic disruptions, and the risk of landslides in hilly regions

The weather office has also advised fishermen along the Konkan coast to avoid venturing into the sea due to rough conditions
