Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra or Dasara, holds deep cultural and religious significance. According to Drik Panchang, it commemorates the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana, as well as the triumph of Goddess Durga over the buffalo demon Mahishasura

Several rituals are traditionally performed on Vijayadashami, including Shami Puja and Aparajita Puja

This year Vijayadashami will be observed on Thursday

Every year, the Mumbai local trains get decked out for festivals like Dussehra and Diwali

With the city embracing both its traditions and modern rhythms, this festive season continues to blend devotion and daily life in a uniquely Mumbai way
