The project will be developed across around 20 hectares, or 50 acres, and is planned as a township rather than simply a residential redevelopment scheme, it said
Shinde said the development would include 23 civic amenities and create the foundation for what he described as a new Thane
The planned facilities include wider roads, water supply, sewage management, waste management, gardens, playgrounds, community halls, gymnasiums, yoga centres, indoor games facilities, a digital library and a day-care centre
It will also have a senior citizens' recreation centre, a primary healthcare centre, a women's empowerment centre and smart street lighting
Shinde said the project would be developed on the concept of a 'city within a city', combining housing with essential facilities and employment opportunities
