The weather agency issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the city, likely to be accompanied by strong winds throughout the day.

Heavy rain in Mumbai city and suburbs created problems for commuters on Tuesday.

Heavy rain at Link Road, Jogeshwari, and Goregaon disrupted the traffic, which created chaos among the commuters travelling by road for work.

Streets in Goregaon and other parts of the suburbs were seen waterlogged amid heavy showers since Tuesday morning.

The orange alert issued by IMD indicates the likelihood of severe weather that could potentially disrupt daily activities and cause localised flooding in low-lying areas.
