At Mohammed Ali Road, families and children were spotted shopping for crackers, preparing for the upcoming Diwali celebrations
The area was filled with colourful stalls and lively energy
Many also purchased new utensils, another popular tradition linked with the day
Businessmen were seen buying a "Chopda" (Book of Accounts), a special item bought on Dhanteras to prepare for the Chopda Puja — a key ritual during Diwali that marks the beginning of the new accounting year for many traders
Huge crowds were seen at firecracker shops in south Mumbai
Dadar (West) saw heavy footfall as people shopped for Diwali clothes, gifts, and sweets
Shops were decorated with lights and festive banners, and streets were bustling with activity
