The project aims to add a sixth line on the busy Western Railway corridor, which is expected to ease congestion and improve train movement in the area

The block began on the night of December 20/21, 2025, and will continue until January 18, 2026, an official statement had earlier said

The Western Railway had earlier announced a major block in connection with the construction of the sixth railway line between Kandivali and Borivali

Railway officials and contractors have been working in coordination to ensure the work is completed on schedule while maintaining safety standards

Hundreds of trains were cancelled and rescheduled in the past weeks due to the ongoing project
