According to the Thane Municipal Corporation’s Disaster Management Cell, information regarding a partial collapse of a building under redevelopment at Road No 27 in Wagle Estate, Thane West, was received at around 5.25 pm from the Srinagar Police Station

The alert stated that workers were trapped at the site

Following the information, police personnel, disaster management cell staff with a utility vehicle, Thane Disaster Response Force personnel with a bus, an ambulance from the Thane Municipal Corporation, fire brigade personnel with an emergency tender, and officials from the building department rushed to the spot

Officials clarified that the incident was part of a drill organised by Srinagar Police Station to assess emergency response preparedness

The drill and rescue exercise were successfully completed at around 6.20 pm, officials said.
