While the National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRC) stated that 85 per cent of the excavation work has been completed, the flying squad, which visited the site last Friday, observed multiple non-compliances from the 28-point rule list

H East Ward Officer Mrudula Ande provided details of the violations, saying, “The matter of rising pollution levels has been taken very seriously by the corporation"

According to BMC, water sprinkling, misting, spraying, or fogging is not being carried out during excavation and rock-breaking activities

Dust is also accumulating on project-area roads

The NHSRC has assured that necessary actions will be taken immediately to prevent further pollution
