Several two-wheelers were seen slowing down or swerving to avoid deeper potholes, while larger vehicles struggled to maintain steady movement through the inundated road

Despite the difficult conditions, both vehicular traffic and pedestrians continued to move cautiously through the waterlogged stretch

Many commuters, drenched and navigating through ankle-deep water, expressed concern over the recurring issue of poor drainage and unmaintained roads during monsoon months

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for the city, warning of very heavy to extremely heavy rain throughout the day

The red alert also covers the neighbouring districts of Thane, Raigad, and Palghar, where similar intense rainfall is expected
