Senior police officials were present to review the parade and inspect the arrangements being made to ensure peaceful and fair elections across the city

The exercise is a usual practice, aimed at boosting the morale of the force and ensuring that law and order is maintained during polling, counting and other election-related activities.

Mumbai Police have planned adequate security arrangements for the BMC elections on January 15

The police have planned increased patrolling, monitoring of sensitive locations and coordination with election authorities

The force will be deployed across sensitive areas, polling booths and counting centres to prevent any untoward incidents on the voting day, sources said 

The BMC elections are expected to witness a high turnout
