IN PHOTOS: Haze shrouds Mumbai's skyline as city records 'poor' air quality

On Tuesday evening, the Central Pollution Control Board’s SAMEER app reported in its latest Mumbai weather update that the city’s air quality remained in the ‘poor’ category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 208. A thick layer of haze enveloped the city, obscuring its towering skyline (PICS/ASHISH RAJE).

On Monday, the city had recorded moderate AQI at 158

Colaba (151), Worli (121), Borivali (169), and Ghatkopar (189) recorded AQI in the moderate category. 

However, Kandivali's air quality deteriorated to poor to reach 203. Powai (226), Malad (283), Andheri (249), and Byculla (266) also remained in the poor category

Bandra-Kurla Complex recorded 'very poor' are air quality, with an AQI of 374 

The air quality index from 0 to 100 is considered 'good', 100 to 200 'moderate', 200 to 300 'poor', 300 to 400 'very poor' and from 400 to 500 or above 'severe'
