The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Thane, Palghar, and Raigad, predicting hot and humid conditions in isolated pockets of these districts. PIC/ ASHISH RAJE

The IMD has also forecast heatwave conditions in several other districts across Maharashtra, including Dhule, Nandurbar, Nashik, and Jalgaon. PIC/ ASHISH RAJE

Meanwhile, Akola and Amravati are under an orange alert as these districts are likely to experience severe heatwave conditions. PIC/ ASHISH RAJE

Akola recorded the highest temperature in the country on Monday at 46.9 degrees Celsius. PIC/ ASHISH RAJE

According to the Central Pollution Control Board's (CPCB) Sameer App, Mumbai recorded an air quality index of 85, which is 'Satisfactory'. PIC/ PTI
