 The collapse occurred at Chawl No. 37, Bharat Nagar, within the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) area. Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) officials confirmed the structure's complete failure, leading to an ongoing rescue operation at the site

The Level-II emergency prompted the mobilisation of multiple agencies, including the MFB, Mumbai Police, MHADA, PWD, Adani electricity staff, and building department officials

The response team on site includes two Assistant Divisional Fire Officers, five Senior Station Officers, one Station Officer, five fire engines, one Major Water Tanker, one Control and Command Fire Fighter, one Rescue Van, one Water Quint Rescue Vehicle and a 108 ambulance

According to Dr Vinod Khade, Medical Superintendent at Bandra Bhabha Hospital, a total of 12 individuals were injured in the incident

Among them, Rehana Ansari, a 65-year-old woman, and Mohd Ansari, a 68-year-old man, both sustained approximately 50 per cent burns and are in critical condition. They have been shifted to KEM Hospital for advanced care
