The drainage systems and better rainwater management showed positive results on Sunday

The improvements come as a major relief for residents and commuters who have struggled with water-logging during monsoons in previous times

The BMC has been working on long-term flood control plans in low-lying areas in Mumbai

Parts of Mumbai recorded more than 50 mm rainfall in five hours from 8 am to 1 pm, as per data shared by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)

Despite heavy downpour the Andheri Subway and Hindmata in Dadar area of the city remain free of water-logging 

All necessary measures have been taken, and the machinery is actively working on-site, the BMC said in a statement
