The unexpected rain temporarily brought some relief from the day’s heat in parts of Mumbai

Earlier, Mumbai awoke to clear skies on Tuesday, following moderate showers on Monday evening

The city has been witnessing brief showers on regular intervals since last month

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted partly cloudy skies through the day, with chances of light to moderate rain in select pockets of city

The weather department said that the maximum temperatures on Tuesday were likely to hover around 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is expected to be near 24 degrees Celsius

The brief spell of rain has helped cool the city and contributed to a noticeable improvement in air quality
