Earlier in the day, the weather department predicted that Mumbai and its suburbs were expected to witness mainly clear skies through the day

Warm weather conditions were likely to prevail, with the maximum temperature touching around 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may settle near 22 degrees Celsius, the IMD predicted on Saturday

Meanwhile, Mumbai's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 146 on Saturday morning, placing it in the moderate' category

According to the Centre’s SAMEER app, pollution levels varied across different parts of the city on Saturday. Bandra-Kurla Complex recorded an AQI of 147, Byculla 106, Andheri East 152, Chembur 118, Colaba 120, Deonar 171, Ghatkopar 155, Bandra East 128, Mulund West 118. All these areas reported an AQI in the 'moderate' category

Worli recorded an AQI of 218 and Kandivali East 288 which is comparatively higher pollution levels than several other locations in the city
