Party members, including MLA Gopal Shetty, received Goyal at Borivali station and later took him to a event that was being held in suburb. 

Piyush Goyal has been fielded by the BJP from Maharashtra in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. 

Goyal will be contesting the elections from Mumbai North consituency effectively replacing Gopal Shetty. 

At the event held in Goyal's honour, BJP Mumbai unit chief and legislator Ashish Shelar was also spotted. 

Piyush Goyal, who was an investment banker before his foray into politics, will be contesting the Lok Sabha elections for the first time. 

The Union Minister was previously seen taking a Mumbai local train ride and interacting with fellow commuters. 

While interacting with media, he had expressed gratitude towards PM Narendra Modi for feilding him from Mumbai and said as a Mumbaikar, he feels "elated to contest from the city".
