A jumbo block of five hours was operated on the UP and Down fast lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central (local) stations from 10.35 am to 15.35 pm on Sunday, the Western Railway had earlier stated
It had said that during the block period, all the local trains operating on the fast line will run on slow lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central
Due to the block, some suburban trains remained cancelled
Some Churchgate-bound trains were scheduled to be short-terminated/reversed at Bandra/Dadar stations, an official statement had earlier said
Work included the maintenance of railway tracks, signalling systems, and overhead equipment to ensure safe and smooth running of suburban trains
