The day marks the anniversary of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, a landmark human-rights treaty. PIC/SHADAB KHAN

The civic headquarters also donned the blue colour on the eve of World Children's Day 2025. The day serves as a global reminder that every child deserves safety, education, healthcare and equal opportunities. PIC/UNICEF

The Mumbai Airport lit up to promote child rights. Governments, organisations, schools and communities use this day to highlight issues affecting children, such as poverty, discrimination and violence. UNICEF leads many of the global activities, encouraging people to take action for children’s wellbeing. PIC/UNICEF
