The Chief Minister also announced a solatium of Rs 5 lakh for the kin of each deceased

Seven people, including two children, were killed and seven others injured when the compound wall of a hospital collapsed, he confirmed, adding that the injured are out of danger

The incident occurred at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital

According to officials, the victims were taking shelter near the wall when heavy rains, strong winds, and hailstorms lashed the area, causing the structure to collapse. All seven died on the spot

Police and emergency personnel rushed to the scene with an earthmover and, with the help of locals, rescued the injured and retrieved bodies from the debris
