Shah begans his tour by visiting forward border outposts of Gurnam and Bobiyian in Kathua’s Hiranagar sector along the International Border

Interacting with BSF personnel guarding the frontier, Shah said he had come to “oversee border surveillance and directly engage with the force personnel”

Addressing troops at Bobiyian, the home minister announced that the 60th year of the BSF will be observed as the “year of BSF modernisation and welfare of personnel and their families.”

Emphasising technology-driven security, Shah said the government is ready to invest required funds to modernise border infrastructure and equipment to ease challenges faced by personnel and later paid a  tribute to the martyred soldiers

The home minister laid a wreath at the martyrs memorial 'Ajeya Prahari' at Bobiyian border outpost as a tribute to the border guards who laid down their lives for the country.“The soldiers’ sacrifice and unwavering dedication inspire every citizen,” he said

Shah with Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha handed over the appointment letter to family member of a martyr in Lok Bhavan

Shah also chaired a high-level security review meeting at Lok Bhavan in Jammu with Lt Governor Manoj Sinha Army chief, Gen Upendra Dwivedi and other top security officials in attendance

In the meeting, Shah reviewed intensified anti-terror operations that neutralised four Pakistani terrorists linked to Jaish-e-Mohammad in recent encounters across Jammu region districts

The Home Minister reaffirmed the government’s resolve claiming that all resources will be made available to achieve the goal of a “terror-free Jammu and Kashmir” at the earliest
