Thousands gathered on Red Road in central Kolkata to offer the special Eid prayers
Community members were also seen offereing namaz at Nakhoda Masjid, near Belgachia Bridge, and in various other parts of the city and state to mark the occasion
After the prayers, people greeted one another, exchanged gifts and enjoyed specially prepared festive dishes
Governor CV Ananda Bose and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wished the citizens on the occasion
