Speaking at the event, Fadnavis said, "We are working to connect our ports efficiently with rail and road networks"

He also stated that the New Vadhavan Port will change the entire space of port-led development in India 

During the event, Fadnavis emphasised the state’s commitment to developing world-class maritime infrastructure

Meanwhile, Ports Minister Nitesh Rane said that the summit brings together leading experts from across India and the international maritime community. Through day-long sessions, these experts will offer insights and strategic guidance to bolster port development and strengthen the state’s economic ecosystem, he added

While explaining the importance of the summit, Rane said,"The summit marks a significant push toward sustainable growth, economic resilience, and innovation in Maharashtra’s maritime landscape"

"This Maritime Summit will give a new direction to Maharashtra’s port sector, which will help Maharashtra gain a new identity in the global maritime sector. It will also contribute to the development of maritime infrastructure," the ports minister said
