Sonam has been arrested for the crime, which allegedly took place during the couple's honeymoon in Meghalaya. According to the police, she has confessed to her role in the conspiracy to kill her husband

The 29-year-old Indore-based businessman was reportedly murdered as part of a plot that involved Sonam, 25, and her alleged lover, Raj Kushwaha, who is 20

It is reported that Sonam and Raj allegedly hired three assailants to carry out Raghuvanshi's murder. Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam got married in Indore on May 11. On May 23, they went missing during their honeymoon in Meghalaya

Locals in Indore had reacted strongly to the incident, questioning the safety in the northeast state. After Raja Raghuvanshi was found murdered, questions were raised over Meghalaya Police's handling of the investigation 

Speaking on the outrage, Mayor Bhargava said, "If for any reason the image or tourism of Meghalaya or any other part of the North-East has been negatively affected, then I express my regret." He also praised the Meghalaya Police for solving the murder case within a few days and expressed his gratitude for their swift action
