The six-member all-party parliamentary delegation arrived in Greece on Tuesday evening, where they were received at the airport by Indian Ambassador to Greece, Rudrendra Tandon
The all-party delegation met with Greece's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tasos Chatzivasileiou, along with other officials during their visit to Athens
Meanwhile the Indian delegation includes MPs Rajeev Rai (Samajwadi Party), Brijesh Chowta (BJP), Prem Chand Gupta (Rashtriya Janata Dal), Ashok Kumar Mittal (Aam Aadmi Party), as well as former diplomats Manjeev Singh Puri and Jawed Ashraf
The delegation's objective is to inform international partners about India’s response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and its wider efforts against cross-border terrorism. The delegation will also hold discussions with leaders in Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Latvia, and Russia
Indian Ambassador to the European Union, Manjeev Singh Puri, underscored the importance of international backing for India's anti-terrorism stance. He highlighted that with Pakistan being a member of the UN Security Council, it is crucial for both permanent and non-permanent members to understand and support India’s position. This, he said, ensures that Pakistan cannot influence the narrative and keep global attention focused on the need to dismantle terrorism
