With this, he became the first non-opening batsman to complete 700 runs in a single Indian Premier League season

The 34-year-old surpassed former Royal Challengers Bengaluru's AB de Villiers' record of 687 runs in 2016 edition, which was the most runs by a non-opening batsman in an IPL season

Suryakumar's IPL 2025 campaign came to an end with 717 runs in 16 matches. He also ended the season as Mumbai Indians' highest run-scorer in the tournament

Later, the Hardik Pandya-led MI suffered a five-wicket loss against PBKS at the Narendra Modi Stadium. With this, Shreyas Iyer and his men will now clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the same venue on June 3
