Having put to bat first, Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) opening batsman Mitchell Marsh played a knock of 35 runs off 28 deliveries, including two boundaries and three maximums. Aiden Markram also failed to put on a big show with the willow as he returned to the pavilion on 11 runs in eight balls. During his knock, he smashed a boundary and a maximum. Facing 11 balls, M-Choudhary accumulated 14 runs, with the help of two boundaries. Abdul Samad played a fighting knock of 36 runs in 25 balls, which was laced with three boundaries and one maximum. Mohammed Shami was dismissed on one run in two balls. Anrich Nortje and Mohsin Khan faced one ball each but were dismissed on ducks. DC's Lungi Ngidi and T. Natarajan claimed three wickets each. Having completed his quota of four overs, Natarajan conceded 29 runs, whereas Ngidi leaked 27 runs in 3.4 overs. Kuldeep Yadav also returned with the figures of two wickets for 31 runs in four overs. Skipper Axar Patel chipped in with one wicket.
