Having opted to bat first, Team India's swashbuckling opening batsman Abhishek Sharma continued his poor run in the global showpiece, as he was dismissed on a three-ball duck. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav returned to the pavilion after scoring 34 runs in 28 balls, including two boundaries and a maximum. Shivam Dube delivered a blistering knock of 66 runs off just 31 deliveries, which was laced with four boundaries and six maximums. Hardik Pandya also garnered 30 runs in 21 balls, with the help of three maximums. Rinku Singh stayed unbeaten on six runs, which came in three balls, including a maximum. The Netherlands' Logan van Beek registered three wickets by leaking 56 runs in four overs. Aryan Dutt returned with the figures of two wickets for 19 runs in four overs.
