Akshay then continued jokingly, “kitni baar din mein karta hai? Matlab main teko puch raha hoon, shaadi kab karega aur party kab dega?” Karan laughed and said he would do it, but only after his friend gets married first. Akshay then asked if there was someone special in his life. Karan shared a funny story about trying to impress a girl using a pick-up line that unfortunately didn’t work. The line was, “Samosa ke saath milti hai chutney, will you be my patni?” Karan revealed that the pick-up line was actually suggested by Maniesh Paul and jokingly blamed him for the rejection. Akshay quickly added, “Waise main maan sakta hoon ki itni ghatiya line toh Maniesh hi de sakta hai.” Akshay Kumar gives a challenge to fans Akshay then asked the audience who believed that the line was indeed given by Maniesh, and almost everyone in the audience raised their hands in agreement. Continuing the fun, Akshay asked the audience, “Aap logon ne iski film dekhi hai, ‘Mickey Virus’?” He mentioned that he still remembers a pick-up line from the film that Maniesh considered romantic. Akshay then recited the line, “Meri kismat se tu mujhe mili miss, mutual funds are subject to market risk.” The line had everyone in the audience laughing. The fun didn’t stop there. Akshay then asked Karan, “Hum tere liye koi ladki dekhe?” and turned to the audience asking if anyone would like to marry Karan. A girl in the audience named Hitanshi stood up and said that she has a huge crush on Karan Wahi and would do anything for him. Akshay then challenged her to drink a giant glass of ‘ganne ka juice’ in one go, saying that if she completed the challenge, Karan would have to go shirtless. Hitanshi accepted the challenge and successfully finished the entire glass in one go, earning loud cheers from the audience. As the challenge was completed, Akshay asked Karan to take off his shirt. Karan, feeling shy, tried to avoid it and said that instead he would give Hitanshi a hug. However, Akshay kept insisting, after which Karan finally gave a quick peek of his abs. In the end, Hitanshi happily agreed to the hug instead, and Karan walked up to her and gave her a warm hug, making a memorable highlight of the episode. Moments like these added to the lively atmosphere of the episode, blending humor, spontaneity, and audience participation. With Akshay Kumar’s quick wit and the contestants’ spirited responses, the episode delivered an engaging mix of entertainment and fun.

Still from Ganesh Kartikey

Shrenu Parikh, Avinash Rekhi reflect on their Ganesh Kartikey journey

Sony SAB’s mythological saga Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki - Ganesh Kartikey brings alive the powerful and sacred journey of Lord Shiva (Avinesh Rekhi) and Goddess Parvati (Shrenu Parikh), two of the most worshipped deities. While the show captures their divine story on screen, portraying such revered characters has also been a deeply personal experience for the actors who bring them to life. For Avinesh Rekhi and Shrenu Parikh, playing Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati has gone beyond costumes, scenes and dialogues. Over time, their roles have slowly influenced their daily lives, the way they approach their work, and even the way they reflect on relationships, patience and faith. Being surrounded by spiritual stories and powerful moments every day on set has made the experience feel less like a performance and more like a journey. Avinash Rekhi on playing Shiva Speaking about the impact of the role, Avinesh Rekhi shared, “Playing Shiva has been a very grounding experience for me. It is not something you can simply switch on and off like a regular character. Over time, I began to notice small changes in the way I deal with life. I found myself facing tough situations with a little more calm and patience. Even on set, before certain scenes, I like to take a quiet moment to center myself and give the shot my complete attention. Lord Shiva is known for his stillness and balance, and while trying to understand that for the role, I realised those qualities slowly started becoming a part of how I think and make decisions in my life. In a very quiet way, the character stays with me.” Shrenu Parikh on playing Parvati Shrenu Parikh added, “Portraying Goddess Parvati has made me experience the nurturing and protective side of a woman, especially the emotions of motherhood, even before living that phase in my own life. It was a beautiful feeling to explore that depth. Sati, on the other hand, showed me the quiet devotion and adoration a wife can hold for her husband, something I connect with even more in my own journey of marriage. And then, I’ve also portrayed Kaali Maa, who represents a completely different energy, fierce and fearless." She elaborated, "Living these forms in the show made me realize how incredible a woman’s spirit is. She can nurture, she can love deeply, and when the moment demands, she can also rise with immense power. My journey on the show has been very special because I have lived so many shades of a woman through these characters.” Tune in to watch Ganesh Kartikey, every Monday to Saturday at 8 PM, only on Sony SAB.

Ektaa Kapoor recalls father Jeetendra taunted 100 times for launching ALTT

Producer and television creator Ektaa Kapoor recently opened up about the criticism she faced after launching the OTT platform ALTT, revealing that even her father, veteran actor Jeetendra, strongly objected to the kind of bold content the platform hosted. Ektaa Kapoor talks about ALTT Speaking about the backlash, Ektaa said she had been used to receiving comments about her personal life for years. However, the criticism intensified when she entered the digital streaming space with ALTT. Reflecting on the situation, she said that the taunts she received for launching the platform were far greater than the ones she faced earlier for not getting married. She shared, “When I decided not to get married, I got about four taunts. But when I started ALTT, I got almost a hundred.” Her comment highlighted how controversial the platform became due to its edgy and adult oriented storytelling. Ektaa also revealed that the situation created tension within her family, particularly with her father Jeetendra. According to her, the veteran actor was uncomfortable with the bold themes that some shows on the platform explored. She recalled that her father even argued with her about the decision. Talking about those disagreements, Ektaa said, “My father would fight with me and say, ‘Why are you doing this kind of content?’” She added that the criticism from within the family made the experience even more difficult, especially because Jeetendra had built a long standing reputation in the film industry. On receiving criticism Despite the criticism, Ektaa said she believed experimentation was necessary in the evolving entertainment landscape. She explained that digital platforms often provide space for stories that may not find a place on traditional television. For her, ALTT was an attempt to explore new storytelling formats and cater to changing audience tastes. However, the platform eventually landed in controversy over allegations that some of its shows contained explicit material. Amid the growing scrutiny, Ektaa later clarified publicly that she had stepped down from the platform earlier and was no longer associated with it. Looking back at the experience, Ektaa acknowledged that the journey of launching ALTT was filled with criticism, debates and personal conflicts. Yet she maintained that creative risks are often part of building something new. Her remarks also shed light on the pressures faced by creators in the entertainment industry, where decisions about content can spark strong reactions not only from audiences and authorities but sometimes even from family members.
