As Goa continues to urbanise, the state’s efforts to strengthen city infrastructure, improve housing access, and introduce modern planning systems are likely to feature in discussions during the upcoming Assembly proceedings. Several initiatives associated with the government’s urban development agenda, many supported and advocated by Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane may come up for review as legislators seek updates on their progress.
One of the initiatives that could attract attention is the introduction of 3D-based city planning under the Panaji Smart City Mission. The technology allows planners to use advanced digital modelling to visualise city growth, plan roads and utilities, and improve the design of public infrastructure. Supporters of the initiative believe that such technology-driven planning could help Goa manage future urban expansion in a more organised and sustainable manner.
