The India Water Foundation is pleased to announce the international conference on ‘Deciphering Transversality of Water-Energy-Environment Nexus’ during the Water Transversality Awards and Conclave supported by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Power of the Government of India, and the South and South-West Asia Office of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP). This event is scheduled for December 5th and 6th, 2024, at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi.
This conference will bring together global and national leaders, policymakers, and experts from around 30 countries. As interdependencies deepen, especially in vital sectors like water, energy, and the environment, the urgency for innovative, sustainable, and integrated solutions has never been greater. Together, these experts will explore the increasingly interconnected challenges posed by climate change, disasters, water scarcity, and sustainable energy issues, examining how these critical domains can be integrated into sustainable development strategies for the future. This event serves as a platform to foster dialogue, share best practices, and explore pathways to address the complex challenges at the heart of nexus. Key Themes of the International ConferenceThe Water-Energy-Environment Nexus forms a crucial intersection in the sustainable development agenda. At the conference, a diverse range of topics, each carefully curated and critical to achieving environmental and energy security as well as water resilience, will be addressed. Key themes shall delve into water circularity, industrial water use efficiency, ecosystem restoration, decarbonization and net zero targets, green hydrogen production, disaster risk management, renewable energy, and the water, energy, and health trilemma.
