House of Zelena, India's 1st maternity lifecycle brand, has launched the country's first science-engineered Sculpt &amp; Lift <a href="https://houseofzelena.com/pages/sculpt-lift-anti-sagging-bra" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">bra for sagging breast</a> range designed specifically to support mothers through breastfeeding and postpartum recovery.
The launch comes with a larger mission: creating awareness around &lsquo;Breast Care&rsquo; during motherhood, an area the company believes has remained largely overlooked by the lingerie industry.
"Once a woman becomes a mother, the conversation around lingerie almost disappears," says Hina Priyadarshini, Co-founder of House of Zelena. A former senior tech leader and mother of two, Priyadarshini says she built the brand around a simple principle - comfort first, sensuality second - after finding no products designed to address the physical realities mothers actually face.
Chief among those realities is breast ptosis, the medical term for breast sagging, graded by how far the nipple sits relative to the breast fold. According to WebMD, ptosis is driven primarily by skin losing elasticity with age, gravity, and the hormonal changes and breast-size fluctuations that occur during pregnancy; research cited by WebMD notes that breastfeeding itself is not a significant contributor, despite common perception. It's a distinction Priyadarshini says most new mothers never hear. "Women either accept sagging as the cost of being blessed with a child, or blame their lifestyle for a transformation that's largely driven by pregnancy itself," she says.
<h2 style="text-align: left;">Inside the Bra Science Lab</h2>
To engineer a solution, House of Zelena set up what it calls its 'Bra Science Lab' a dedicated R&amp;D effort combining design and biomechanics. The team built and tested more than 50 sample designs, with 15+ new mothers participating in product trials that ran over 100 days. Feedback was incorporated at every stage, and multiple designs were scrapped along the way. The trial culminated in a session at a DizzyDuck Studio in Bangalore, where participating mothers wore the shortlisted prototypes before the final collection was chosen.
"It's been amazing to look at a centuries-old category of lingerie through the fresh lens of biomechanics," says Khushboo Goel, Chief innerwear designer at House of Zelena. She points to the roughly 400 grams of additional weight the bust carries during lactation, and the accelerated loss of elasticity that follows, as problems the industry has largely left unaddressed.

Fabric choice, Goel says, was one of the hardest constraints to solve for. High-strength synthetic and polyester blends can offer support, but often trade it for discomfort, poor breathability, and a higher risk of skin infection with extended daily wear. To avoid that trade-off, the team sourced components from international suppliers that also work with luxury lingerie brands, prioritizing breathable, skin-safe materials over synthetic shortcuts.
<h2 style="text-align: left;">Real Mothers, Real Trials</h2>
The trials pulled in a mixed bag of mothers, fitness practitioners, and wellness voices to stress-test the range beyond the lab. Fitness creator and mother-of-two Saloni Tyagi, a long-time House of Zelena customer, kept it blunt: &ldquo;I have worn activewear that promises support and delivers none. This one actually held up through a full workout, not just a photo.&rdquo;
Yoga expert and DizzyDuck founder Shashi Prabha Dwivedi, who guides thousands of women through prenatal wellness, flagged something less obvious: &ldquo;Comfort, not just support, is what most new mothers are quietly missing.&rdquo;

Certified lactation and GarbhaSanskar coach Meera Singh tested it against a more clinical lens, calling it &ldquo;the first bra I would confidently recommend during engorgement, not despite it.&rdquo; Fitness advocate Mandira, notably not a mother herself, joined to pressure-test the comfort claims on their own merit, while new-mom creators Aishwarya, Megha Agarwal, and Juhi brought first-hand postpartum experience, each landing independently on the same word: relief.
<h2 style="text-align: left;">Closing an Awareness Gap</h2>
Priyadarshini believes the bigger challenge isn't product design but awareness. "Over 95&#37 of women don't even know that breast sagging during motherhood is preventable," she says. Many, she adds, simply accept it as an inevitable cost of childbirth. As part of her push to change that, Priyadarshini has been engaging women's health and startup circles, while House of Zelena works to bring gynecologists, doulas, and lactation experts into the conversation on prevention.
The brand argues that the right <a href="https://houseofzelena.com/pages/sculpt-lift-anti-sagging-bra" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">breast lift bra</a> is necessary but not sufficient on its own. &ldquo;A well-fitted, supportive bra can arrest rapid sagging women face during motherhood. Once a woman knows that &lsquo;recovery is possible&rsquo;, it makes them feel empowered &amp; confident." Priyadarshini says. "Paired with the right exercises and lifestyle choices, it's part of a mother feeling like herself again - not a guarantee, but genuine support through recovery."

More than 2 lakh mothers have gone through the program to date.
The brand has also built what it describes as India's first Anti-Sagging Self-Assessment Tool, developed under the Bra Science Lab, offering women a diagnostic read on their own risk profile.
