In a remarkable display of resilience and determination, India’s Yashpal Singh Kalsi secured a Gold Medal at the prestigious US Open Karate Championship 2026, held at the Fort Worth Convention Center, Tesax, USA.

Competing in the Individual Advanced Masters Kata (45+ category), Kalsi delivered a standout performance under extraordinary circumstances. Just days prior to the event, he suffered a leg injury during training, followed by a bout of food poisoning and dehydration-conditions that would typically force an athlete to withdraw from competition.
